Sir – Our village, South Hinksey, has already suffered two floods this year, and four others since 2000.
This time, to protect us from flooding, the Environment Agency arranged for the building of a temporary barrier around the village.
The Environment Agency, the officers and men and women of the Royal Logistic Corps 4LSR from Dalton Barracks, Abingdon, and civil contractors GallifordTry completed the works in a remarkable three days. They were wonderfully professional and friendly. We have nothing but praise for them all.
Maggie Rawcliffe, Chairman, South Hinksey Parish Council, South Hinksey
