A man armed with a knife attempted to rob the Post Office in Headington, Oxford, yesterday lunchtime.

The man entered the premises and demanded money but staff did not hand any over and he left.

Police were then called to the Post Office on London Road at 12.11pm. There were no reports of any arrests.

A Post Office spokeswoman said: “Post Office Ltd can confirm an attempted robbery took place at Headington Post Office.

“We will be supporting the police in their efforts to apprehend those responsible.”
