AS a resident of Priory Road I write of the failings of litter picking in the general area of Minchery Farm over the recent Christmas period.

From the first week of December to the second week of January we had no service at all. A neighbour counted over more than 500 discarded cans, plus the usual litter. As an ex-employee of the council I made a quick call and within one day we had a team to clear up and road sweep.

My complaint lays with Mr Tanner, as when I spoke to him on the street delivering support leaflets, he was totally unaware of our dilemma. When does he walk his ward?

This would not happen in the ward of Susannah Pressel as I believe this lady supports her ward.

More to the point, when questioned on the subject, Mr Tanner actually ran away. Of course he may have exited because there were no local photographers there to snap his smiling face. Be aware Mr Tanner, we are very aware of what you do not represent.

Can he explain also why there is a council team every day working in the area of his register’s ward address?

Mr Tanner has declined to respond to my phone enquiries so I feel forced to write publicly via this page. Responses welcome.
