I feel very annoyed at the decision of the Oxford Bus Company to re-route the remainder of the No.4 service from Mason’s Road to Wood Farm Road.
Many people in Headington Quarry, Quarry Road, Mark and Weyland Road use the bus stop named as Mason’s Road North.
Sadly, the motorists have priority again by parking all along both sides of Mason’s Road and continually on the bus stop space itself, making access for the buses practically impossible.
Mrs Jacobs argues public transport services should take priority over cars
Many of those parking in Mason’s Road are using the new children’s centre or are working at the hospitals.
Why, when new buildings are designed, do the appropriate councils not make arrangements for those using them to park their vehicles on site?
The loss of our bus stop is extremely inconvenient for those who (like myself) do not drive, have a disability, or are elderly and do not wish to have a long walk from their nearest bus stop in the dark when returning home after an evening out.
We all guessed that we would lose our bus service soon, due to the parking problem, but were hoping that the council taxpayers would, for once, be put before the ever-invasive motorists.
