A man from Witney yesterday completed a 3,000-mile row across the Atlantic.
Henry Brett and his team of three arrived in Antigua at about 2pm after setting off from Tenerife on December 4.
The Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge is seen as one of the world’s toughest endurance challenges and has seen three crews needing air lift rescues.
Mr Brett, 39, a former England polo captain, said: “We have been through hell and back again out there.”
Another Oxfordshire resident, 17-year-old Eoin Hartwright, from Didcot, is now over halfway through the challenge, and is hoping to reach Antigua in February.
