Sir – It is gratifying to read of the concern shown for old people in Field House but there are many more in Botley in their 70s and 80s determined to live an independent existence and not move into any kind of institution.
This is not easy.
We are a generation used to making the best of things without complaint, but we are entitled to point out that a supermarket offering a full range of goods at competitive prices would be an unmixed blessing.

The delivery service offered by the big supermarkets would be a welcome addition.
