Electrical works in Ferry Hinksey Road finished last night ending days of misery for motorists.
Temporary traffic lights at the junction with Botley Road led to traffic chaos and delays lasting hours at a time since they were installed last Thursday.
Scottish and Southern Energy workers dug up the road to find the cause of an underground cable fault which cut power to 70 homes.
The work finished and temporary lights were taken down at 4.30pm yesterday, while work to repair the footpath is due to finish today.
