THE many photographs which readers have sent in recently are truly wonderful, so many water world ones, especially that of Wallingford Bridge (January 9).
It makes us all more aware of what water can do to our comfort zone.
All the more reason then, to make sure that this time next year we are not doing what we are doing now, saying “we should have done this or that”.
Start now before the snow comes – clear ditches, drains and streams of the summer’s rubbish. It’s never too late.
When ditches and drains were a job for the local council to keep clean, we never had the havoc which we have today.
On a lighter note, may I thank all our refuse collectors for their excellent service over Christmas and New Year?
In my area, at least, bins are emptied regularly on the appointed days and all the rubbish taken.
