IT really is a disgrace that the Oxford Bus Company have decided to withdraw the 4C bus service without consulting the area of Dean Court.

This affects the residents of Pinnocks Way, and those of the Orchard Road estate.

Yes, the S1 and 11 stagecoach services are available along the Eynsham Road at Grange Court. However, both are unreliable – buses often fail to show, the number 11 whizzes past without stopping. The stop is about a 15-minute walk for some of us to get to. The timetable doesn’t list Dean Court as a stop – we have to add eight minutes on to the Eynsham church stop.

I use the 4C bus service from Pinnocks Way in the mornings. This takes me to work on the other side of Oxford near South Park.

This is incredibly convenient for me as I suffer from a very painful back problem. Being able to sit on the bus all the way to Morrell Avenue is fantastic. The alternative would be to walk to the S1 service, get off the bus at Frideswide Square, and wait for a number 5 to the Cowley Road.

The 4C service is one of a few remaining cross-city routes, for those travelling to the city and those going beyond to school at St Clement’s, Cheney School, the Warneford and Churchill hospitals and east Oxford.

I enjoy travelling on the Oxford Bus Company buses and would rather my 13-week bus pass be spent with them.

Would Phil Southall of the Oxford Bus Company please reconsider?
