Sir – Back in November 2013 an article appeared (Flood risk unknown), about how Oxford City Council had not done a flood risk assessment on the Oxpens which was going to be developed. I responded with a letter (November 14) and I asked the question how seriously does Oxford City Council take flooding?

So, on Saturday, December 28, I went and did my own risk assessment. As you can see we have flooding on the Oxpens by the junction of the Castle Mill Stream and the River Thames.

There is quite a lot of water about and let’s remember that the flooding we are seeing at the moment is caused by quite a low priority incident.

As someone who has been flooded three times, I would suggest that Oxford City Council take a serious look at their plans for the future development of the floodplain and maybe consider putting residents first.
