DR Ramzey’s words in the Oxford Mail (January 6) urges us to accept refugees from Syria.
The present troubles arise from Muslim factions fighting for dominance of the country – a differing matter from the original political dispute to wrest control from Assad. This does not really seem a matter for us when there are suitable countries on the borders of Syria who share similar aims to those fighting in Syria. We have already shown good faith in accepting many refugees from countries around the world. DAVID BARNARD Cherwell Avenue Kidlington
