CAROL Holloway was landed with an almost full-time polishing job at the Osney Arms pub in Botley Road, Oxford.

The pub’s darts players were so successful in 1975 that there were trophies galore to keep clean.

Carol, 18-year-old daughter of landlord Gilbert Holloway, shone the haul when she was not helping Dad behind the bar.

Among the trophies pictured here were the Halls Cup, the Ladies’ Woodbine Shield, the Licensed Victuallers’ Association’s Knockout Cup, four Kidlington League cups, the Stadium Cup and Woodstock Cup.

You could say Carol was hoping the pub’s players wouldn’t polish off any more trophies....
