LILY Allen’s new album features a song called Chipping Norton.
The singer said the track is about a party held in Burford Priory, Burford, in 2011 by Rupert Murdoch’s daughter Elisabeth and her PR tycoon husband Matthew Freud.
It was attended by the political and media elite including some of the so-called ‘Chipping Norton Set’ Prime Minister and Witney MP David Cameron, and former newspaper boss Rebekah Brooks, just hours before the phone hacking scandal was revealed.
She said: “The song is about that party and our relationship with the people that print our newspapers.”
Lily Allen is yet to announce the full details of her third album, which is due to be released later this year.
