Santa works overtime to meet festive show children

AFTER his busiest day of the year you would think Father Christmas would be putting his feet up with a mince pie or two.
But he still made time to meet children after the one-night production of Father Christmas and the Icicle Bicycle at Burton Taylor Theatre in Gloucester Street, Oxford.
One lucky youngster was four-year-old Florence Reston from Middleton Stoney.
The Heyford Park School pupil said: “It was great to meet Father Christmas and to see him was very exciting.
“For Christmas, I got a dolls house, a bracelet, clothes and a new duvet.”
During the play, performed on New Year’s Eve, children helped Father Christmas deliver his presents, because Rudolph was too poorly to pull the sleigh.
James Lund, 50, and his wife Elena, 42, took their two sons Jack, six, and Oliver, four, to the show, along with their grandmother Patricia, 79, who they were staying with in Woodstock.
Jack said: “It was nice. My favourite part was Father Christmas and he asked me what my favourite present was and I told him Hot Wheels.”
Oliver added: “It was so funny and I saw a polar bear on the bicycle.”
