More housing is likely, warns MP

DEVELOPERS will find it easier to get new housing estates built in North Oxfordshire after council bosses lost an appeal over 85 homes, an MP has said.
Inspector Paul Crysell overturned the council’s verdict because he said it had not finalised a so-called local plan.
Conservative Sir Tony said: “It has been incredibly difficult defending situations on appeal where there has been neither an up-to-date local plan nor a robust five year housing supply.”
The council’s lead member for planning Michael Gibbard said: “Once again the opinions of the district council and local residents have been ignored on appeal.
He said he was not against new homes, but against them “in the wrong places.”
