AN Oxford school for ecology is asking for donations to help give 20 students from the developing world a full fellowship.
The Oxford Winter School in Ecological Economics will run for one week from January 13 to 17. The school has already had more than 100 applications from students around the world but says a large proportion of those are talented academics from Africa, Latin America and Asia, whose monthly incomes are between £100 and £120.
The school is looking for £50,000 to offer 20 full fellowships which would cover students’ travel, accommodation food and tuition.
The school is run by Environment Europe, which carries out research projects to find more ecologically sustainable economic models for living.
