MUSIC lovers wait patiently for the band to strike up.
While others mingled in the background, they had already taken their seats for a concert by seven leading modern jazz musicians at the Carfax Assembly Rooms in Oxford in about 1960.
Word quickly spread that the Perdido Jazz Club was being revived for this one-night session, and tickets sold quickly.
The jazzmen travelled from London and delighted the capacity audience at the venue which hosted dances, concerts and meetings.
