A GRANDMOTHER who collapsed while she was on the toilet died of natural causes, an inquest heard yesterday.

Louise Pratt, 54, was found on her bathroom floor by her son David Pratt at her home in Somerville, Didcot, on June 13.

The inquest at Oxfordshire Coroner’s Court heard that Ms Pratt, a carer, suffered from kidney stones.

The only medication present in the bathroom was Rennie, which can be used to treat heartburn and indigestion.

Dr Susan Davies, consultant pathologist, told the court that there was no clear medical cause of death.

Oxfordshire Coroner Darren Salter asked her: “Is there anything to suggest anything other than natural causes?”

Dr Davies replied: “No, not at all.”

But she added that Ms Pratt had a history of collapses in the past which could have been caused by an irregular heartbeat.

Recording a verdict of death by natural causes, Mr Salter said: “There is absolutely nothing to suggest anything other than a natural cause. What we can’t do is say what that cause was.”
