A BICESTER estate will get extra attention from council cleaning teams next week.

Cherwell District Council will carry out extra duties in King’s End from Monday to Friday.

The work will include removing fly-tipping, graffiti and dog mess.

Compost will also be given away from the Shakespeare Drive shops from 3.30pm to 5.30pm.

Those who put out their blue or brown bin during the week will also be entered into a draw to win a blue bin or bag of compost and year’s supply of compostable liners.

And residents will be able to get up to three bulky items collected for free during the week instead of the usual £9 or £18 charge. To sign up visit cherwell.gov.uk Council lead member for clean and green Nigel Morris said: “The streets of Cherwell are cleaned by our environmental services team 365 days a year but despite their ongoing efforts to keep the district tidy, there is a minority who choose to spoil it.

“Therefore it is necessary for us to carry out these blitzes in the worst affected areas to bring them back up to the standard they deserve to be.”
