AN 18-YEAR-OLD fractured a bone in his girlfriend’s face and left blood across the walls of his house during an assault.

Tony Marraffa, of Rivermead Road, Rose Hill, Oxford, admitted causing actual bodily harm and sobbed as he was jailed for 15 months on Tuesday.

Naomi Perry, prosecuting, said the teenager attacked his then partner Clare Moreley on October 6 this year as they were walking home from a night out in Oxford city centre.

She said Marraffa punched the left side of her face, giving her a nosebleed, and said: “That’s what you get for acting like a slag.”

Miss Perry told Judge Gordon Risius the defendant then grabbed his girlfriend by the hair and dragged her through an alleyway, causing her to scream.

The barrister said he pushed her back to his house and on to the kitchen table, where he grabbed her throat for four or five minutes.

Miss Perry said Miss Moreley tried to call the police but was again punched repeatedly by Marraffa, leaving her blood on the walls. She added that he had been given a youth rehabilitation order earlier this year for another assault on the same victim.

Benjamin Thiele-Long, defending, said: “He wants help with his alcohol usage. He doesn’t know how to either stop his drinking or control it when he does.”

Judge Risius sentenced Marraffa to 15 months in prison and ordered him to pay a £100 victims’ surcharge.

He also made a restraining order banning contact with his victim for five years.
