I SEEM to have been misinterpreted by Jane Cox (Letters, October 28).
I'm opposed to the Green Party proposal to leave part of the new Barton development with no parking spaces, because that would inevitably lead to some residents parking in the existing Barton estate or in Northway and walking the short distance home.
That doesn’t require a car link between Barton and Northway, which Mrs Cox knows as well as I do, is not going to happen.
The only reason for people from the new development to drive into Northway would be if there was no parking in the new development.
I’m happy to reassure residents that the city council intends to take no notice of the Green Party and the development will provide ample parking for residents of the new development by their own homes.
