IN the end, the storm failed to live up to its billing.
Labelled in advance as the worst storm in a generation in Britain, October 28’s bad weather actually didn’t affect us in Oxfordshire as much as feared.
That is a good thing, clearly – although it is not to say that there were not a number of problems for county and indeed UK residents.
Trains were cancelled, roads blocked, and homes left without power.
So it is not fair to say that the storm was a damp squib – but, once again, the weathermen didn’t quite get it right.
