CONTROVERSIAL plans for 34 homes in Sutton Courtenay go before councillors again on Wednesday night.

Vale of White Horse District Council planning officers have recommended the Milton Road scheme be approved for the second time although its planning committee threw out Pye Homes’ plan in June.

The plans involve demolishing a house in Milton Road to give access.

Yet planning officer Mark Doodes has urged councillors to reconsider, although 58 residents objected.

It was refused in June over drainage, potential traffic issues and impact on local facilities.

Sutton Courtenay Parish Council said the parish was being squeezed by uses harmful to the health and well-being of the community and that commitments for 140 houses in Appleford Road, 15 houses in Hobbyhorse Lane and 79 houses at the Redrow site in Milton Road more than met the housing requirements for Sutton Courtenay.

The committe meets at 6.30pm at Abbey House, Abbey Close, Abingdon.
