THE county council says it has to make £61 million of cuts, threatening such vital things as children’s centres.
Conservatives on the county council shed crocodile tears at ‘having’ to make these cuts, even though they are mainly in this mess because the Conservative-led Government has cut grants to the council.
So do the Conservative councillors wholeheartedly support their Government? In which case they are hypocrites to be holding ‘consultation’ sessions which are actually meaningless.
Or are they as appalled at these cuts, as most of their constituents are? If so, the Conservatives on the council should resign from the Conservative party — or resign from the council – in protest at being supplied insufficient funds by central Government.
Don’t cut essential services: cut the hypocrisy of councillors.
