RACIALLY-offensive words were spray-painted with graffiti across buildings in Oxford’s Cowley Road.

Three properties were vandalised overnight between Wednesday and yesterday.

Police said two of the incidents, which they are treating as racially-aggravated, were linked.

But officers have yet to decide if the other incident is also connected.

At the Hi-Lo Jamaican restaurant, the words “black b******” were sprayed across the front door.

Andy Anderson, the restaurant’s owner, said: “I came down in the morning and saw the graffiti.

“I have been here for so long now but I just think we can’t let them get us down.

“I know there are good people and bad people. We know that.

“We don’t know what could have caused it and we didn’t notice anything.”

Police spokesman Hannah Williams said: “We received reports of graffiti on three premises in Cowley Road, Oxford.

“They are believed to have happened overnight.

“We are investigating two offences of racially-aggravated criminal damage, which are believed to be linked.

“Officers visited the third property yesterday.”
