COMMUTERS’ journeys will now take twice as long after their bus was cancelled.

Thames Travel says it has had to cut the Wantage-to-Didcot part of its 36 bus route because it is underused.

That means that commuters like Alex Harvey, 22, from Grove, who use the bus to get to and from work every day, will have to use the 32 service, which will take twice as long.

Mr Harvey, who works at a Telecommunications firm in Milton Park, near Didcot, said: “Now I will either have to find a car pool or use the 32 which will take the commute from 30 minutes to an hour. Everyone I get the bus with will be in the same boat.”

The route was cancelled from Monday, but the 36 will continue to run from Wallingford to Didcot and Thames Travel says further enhancements will be made to the service between those points in December.
