AS THE Pegasus Theatre’s new top man looks out on to the stage, he says he is full of inspiration.

Jonathan Lloyd, 43, a dad-of-two, pictured, joined the East Oxford theatre on Monday from London’s Polka Theatre, taking over from long-serving Euton Daley.

Chief executive and artistic director Mr Lloyd told the Oxford Mail: “You start to think about all the work that has been done here already, but what might be and that is always exciting. “You start to dream about what we might do here.”

One of the first projects Mr Lloyd will work on is the annual bid to the Arts Council for funding.

Mr Lloyd started his career as an assistant director at London’s Bush Theatre, where he worked with actor and director Kathy Burke.

During his time as an associate director at Soho Theatre, he worked with The Office star Martin Freeman.

He had been artistic director at Polka Theatre since 2007 before moving to the Pegasus. Mr Lloyd and his wife Julie, 41, will move to east Oxford.

Mr Daley, of Cowley, left the role after 23 years to pursue creative activities as a writer, performer, director and producer.
