FABRIC fanatics flocked to a festival to find out more about the intracacies of quilt-making.

More than 600 people from Oxfordshire and surrounding counties travelled to Burford School over three days to see the work of women who have attended classes at the town’s Cupcake Cottons shop.

As well as admiring the fine craft work on 130 quilts, visitors also got to watch sewing and quilting demonstrations.

The festival which ended on Sunday was organised by Cupcake Cottons owner and mum-of-two Stephanie Venn, 50, who said: “It went very well.”

A quilt raffle at the show raised £1,700 for the Jane Ashley Women’s Centre at the Churchill Hospital in Oxford.
