WILDLIFE photographer and former Oxford Mail staffer George Reszeter captured this little fellow swiping nuts from the hazel tree in his garden and burying them in an unusual place.
Mr Reszeter, 60, who lives in Wootton, near Abingdon, recently mowed the grass and left the cuttings on the lawn.
Rather than burying his nuts underground, the squirrel was simply putting them under piles of cut grass.
Mr Reszeter said: “I was just looking out of my kitchen window and I noticed something was in the tree because the leaves were all moving. Then, all of a sudden, this squirrel jumped out of there.”
Mr Reszeter added: “Autumn is officially here now it’s September, so the squirrel is bang on time.
“There has been a bumper crop of apples and nuts and berries.”
