The city council has updated the settings on its Twitter feed following a problem with its website.
The council recently improved its website to ensure that all its tweets and Facebook posts were uploaded to the site.
But negative comments about the council started appearing on the Twitter feed after someone altered the settings.
Council spokesman Louisa Dean said: “Our website provider believes the settings for the Twitter account @oxfordcity were altered without the council’s knowledge.
“The council has now disabled this setting from our Twitter account.”
