Sir – To add insult to injury the hateful student blocks at the Castle Mill site are a blaze of lights every night although they are not yet occupied.
Viewed across the sea of darkness of Port Meadow from Wolvercote they look like a glitzy floundered cruise ship. Surely this is an unnecessary energy waste as well as light pollution. Another item for the ongoing list of disasters for the Oxford “carbuncle”.
