PERFORMER Amanda Saville thrilled crowds at the Uffington White Horse Show as she raced between stakes of fire in a chariot.
The display was one of several at the annual show in Fawler Road, Uffington, on Sunday and Monday.
About 7,000 people attended and organisers estimate that about £20,000 was raised to aid community groups and the village school.
Amanda Saville, owner of Scotland-based Chariots of Fire, said: “It is a fabulous show, lots to do, lovely organisers and wonderful weather. The crowds loved it.”
Of driving a chariot through fire, she added: “It is not nerve-wrecking at all because the ponies know what they are doing.”
Crowds were also entertained by an air display featuring a Spitfire and Hurricane, and the only flying Lancaster bomber in Europe.
Jason Smyth’s Adrenaline Tour also wowed with stunts on motorcycles.
One of the organisers, Mike Thomas, said all the money raised goes to a charitable trust which benefits the village.
