The Costa coffee shop in the Market Place, Abingdon, is planning to extend.
The shop would take over the Jessops store next door which has stood empty since January.
Jessops – the national camera chain – went into administration last year and shut its shops early this year.
Costa’s has applied for planning permission to the Vale of White Horse District Council to change the Jessops shop signs to Costa’s signs.
A decision is due to be taken by October 16.
