A WOMAN was taken to hospital and two others suffered minor injuries after a caravan and car crashed off the A34.

The accident happened on the northbound carriageway, near the turn for Islip, just after 2.15pm on Saturday.

The woman’s injuries were not thought to be life-threatening. Two other people were treated at the scene for minor injuries by paramedics.

One lane of the carriageway was closed for almost two-and-a-half hours until the damaged vehicles were recovered.

Ellie Colman, 33, from Bicester, drove past the accident scene at about 3pm and said: “I was driving south and we saw the caravan was on the verge facing the wrong way, so it must have been quite a nasty accident.”

Tailbacks stretched back almost as far as the A420 Botley interchange junction.

Thames Valley Police Inspector Sandie Harris said that police were called to the scene at 2.25pm and that the carriageway was reopened by 4.50pm.
