Sir – John Tanner would have us believe that Labour Party energy policy is against fracking (Letters, August 8). Unfortunately this is not the case.
The political party he represents had 10 years in Government to show us their real commitment to renewable energy (wind, solar, geo-thermal, etc) as opposed to energy production that takes ‘huge risks with our environment’, eg oil, nuclear and shale gas. They could have led by example. They missed their chance.
