THE Southern Bypass Road eastbound has reopened after a vehicle carrying gas cylinders broke down.
Emergency services were called at about 5.15pm to the vehicle, between the Hinksey Hill Interchange and the Kennington Roundabout.
Heavy traffic is reported throughout the area, including north and southbound on the A34, through Kennington village, the bypass and Abingdon Road.
The fire service, which has now left the scene, retrieved and isolated a 9kg propane cylinder from the vehicle.
