ORIGAMI flowers, nail-painting and charity auctions were a few of the entertaining activities at a village fete organised by teenagers in Wheatley.
It was part of the National Citizen Service programme in Oxfordshire, a scheme allowing 60 teenagers from different backgrounds to devise projects to benefit communities and charities.
Hannah Mae Quartermaine, 16, who has been enrolled on the programme since mid-July, said: “Wednesday’s fete was an amazing day.
“We raised more than we thought we would – £187 for the League of Friends and Alzheimer’s Society.
“Making origami is quite therapeutic and I taught a lady at the fete how to do it.”
