A 41-year-old man who drank two litres of vodka a day following a cancer diagnosis died from alcohol poisoning, an inquest heard.
Stuart Carroll was found dead at his home in Whimbrel Close, Bicester, on June 5 by his wife Sarah.
The inquest at Oxfordshire Coroner’s Court yesterday heard that operations manager Mr Carroll had a history of alcohol misuse and turned to drink following a diagnosis of throat cancer in August last year, but was in remission.
Mr Carroll was found to have 621mg per litre in his blood – more than seven times the drink-drive limit of 80mg.
Oxfordshire Coroner Darren Salter recorded a verdict of drink-related death.
