YOUR recent article, ‘Criticism of college expansion proposal’ (August 8) suggests that a deadline for residents to comment on a planned expansion to St Cross College gives them inadequate time to respond.
In fact this is just a deadline for the formal online submission. Residents can continue to contribute, and the council is obliged to take account of their views, up until the time the application is decided – which would not be until the end of September at the earliest. We are grateful to the St John Street area residents’ association for expressing their appreciation of our efforts to keep them informed: we value the views of local people and aim to consult widely to ensure that any development reflects their concerns.
