ARTISTS took to the street to raise cash for a homeless charity last week.
Painters and sketchers produced works of art while shoppers passed them during live art sessions outside the Broad Canvas store, Broad Street, Oxford.
One piece of art has already been sold for £50 and the store says it will donate all cash raised to Crisis Oxford homeless charity.
Oxford artist Phillip Jones, who drew a street scene on Thursday, said it was the first time the store had run the event.
He said: “It’s a brilliant thing. We got a lot of attention from tourists. It’s a fine spot because you have a huge footfall there.”
The 26-year-old from Iffley, who works at the store, added: “It’s been thoroughly enjoyable to do and it’s such a good cause.”
