Pensioner Ronald Woodwards died after surgery to deal with injuries sustained in a fall, an inquest heard.
The 73-year-old was admitted to hospital on April 23 after falling over twice on the same day, once at the home of a friend and again on the drive of his home in Milton Road, Sutton Courtenay.
During the second fall, he suffered a fractured neck and femur. He had an operation on April 26 to fix the breaks but he did not recover well from the surgery.
The inquest heard that he died on April 28 at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, from congested cardiac failure and renal failure.
Coroner Darren Salter ruled his death was an accident.
