A FUND to improve a school playground has been given a boost after a couple raised more than £800 from their first skydive.
Tim Osborne and partner Julie Barrett, both 41, had both always wanted to do a parachute jump.So when they took the plunge they decided to use it to raise cash for the playground appeal at Langford Village School.
The pair, who run Langford Kitchens, both did a tandem skydive earlier this month from 13,000 ft and raised £802.20.
The cash will go towards new equipment in the school playground. Ms Barrett, whose son Kyle, 13 is a former pupil at the school, said a chance chat between a customer and her husband led to their choosing the school and that they did a few charity events every year for national and local charities.
She said: “Tim was working at a PTA lady’s house while we were trying to think of which charity to support next.
“He came home and said she’d asked if we’d do it for the school?”
Ms Barrett said the jump had been amazing: “It totally took your breath away leaving the plane. The parachute deployed and the views were so amazing, really really peaceful. I didn't want it to be over.”
