PLANS for a new zebra crossing in Reading Road were approved by the county council yesterday.
The crossing will cost £12,000 from developer contributions and is close to the junction with St Lucian’s Lane.
It will improve safety for residents heading to St John’s Primary School, the GP surgery or the community hospital.
Cabinet member for environment David Nimmo Smith said he expected the crossing to be built before the year-end.
