A police operation on the A40 on Wednesday netted 17 offending drivers.

Bicester roads policing team and Vehicle Operator Services Agency (VOSA) were on the A40 in the Witney area from 8am to noon.

Two vehicles were seized for no insurance and/or driving licence; two were siezed for having no road tax displayed; three fixed penalty notices of £60 and three points were issued for vehicles with defective tyres and four drivers were referred to education courses for not wearing seatbelts.

Six drivers were issued with prohibition notices for various offences relating to their vehicles’ construction and use, such as defective tyres.
