THESE three boys born within a few hours of the birth of our future king are all princes in their mums’ eyes.

Little Charles Rodley, John Robert Wood and Bailey Bishop-Barrett were just three of the 12 boys born on Monday alongside 12 girls – the same day as the Prince of Cambridge – at Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital.

Banbury’s Horton General Hospital welcomed one boy and one girl into the world.

Emma and sales assistant Paul Rodley, 33, who celebrated the birth of their first child Charles Rodley yesterday, were married a week after William and Kate in 2011 on May 7.

Charles , who will be known as Charlie, was born at 5.30pm and weighed 8lbs 0.5oz.

Proud mum Mrs Rodley, 28, from Bicester, said: “It was not until much later in the day we were told the Duchess of Cambridge was also in labour.

“It had been joked about during the day. It is going to be amazing for him as he grows up and possibly sees the Royal baby become king.

“For him it is special and every birthday there should be something special going on.”

John Robert Wood arrived at the John Radcliffe at 5.51pm to the joy of parents Helen and Robert Wood and weighed in at 8lbs 1oz – the closest weight to the Royal baby which was 8lbs 6oz Mrs Wood, 42, from Cowley, said: “It was quite a surprise.

“I didn’t know the due date of the future king so it just seemed a happy coincidence.”

Mrs Wood, an Oxford city councillor for Cowley, added: “We are just overjoyed.”

Carer Holly Bishop and partner Michael Barrett, an environment agency worker, 32, from Witney welcomed Bailey Bishop-Barrett into the world at 7.22pm, weighing 7lbs 8.5oz.

Miss Bishop, whose waters broke at 4.31pm, not long after the Royal baby was born, said: “He must have known. It will be quite memorable for him growing up. He is my little prince.

“My 13-year-old niece Keavy Walton said ‘he is two days late, you are going to have him on the same day.’ We are over the moon.”

On what the Duchess of Cambridge must be feeling, the 30-year-old, who already has a daughter Freya Bishop-Barrett, two, added: “Tired probably, but she will have a lot of help, won’t she?”

None of the couples were influenced by Royal baby names but all will be applying for the silver penny given by the Royal Mint to babies born on the same day as the Prince of Cambridge.
