The cast includes Yvonne Fontaine (Carmen), Gianluca Pagan Elli (Don Jose), Njabulo Madlala (Escamillo), Natasha Day (Micaela) and Helen Massey (Frasquita). With the Orchestra of Stowe Opera, conducted by Robert Secret. Bring your own picnic to enjoy during the 90-minute interval, or you can buy food on site.

Music enjoyed by the ‘mad’ King George III and his consort Queen Charlotte is brought to life with this period instrument ensemble. Includes Handel Overture to Athalia and Passacaille, J.C. Bach Variations on ‘God Save the King’, Haydn Medley of Scottish Folk Tunes and music by Corelli and Boyce.With Persephone Gibbs and Eleanor Harrison (baroque violins), Judith Dallosso (baroque cello) and Kah-Ming Ng (harpsichord). One of the world’s leading cellists, Matthew Barley, performs at this stunning National Trust property as part of his Around Britten tour, which celebrates the Britten Centenary with 100 concerts. As well as works by Britten, his programme also includes music by Bach, Taverner and contemporary composers.
