KINGSTON BAGPUIZE: A driver was in a life-threatening condition in hospital last night after his car collided with a van. Emergency services were called to the A420 at Tubney at around 2.20pm to the crash, which involved a black BMW car and a silver Renault Trafic Panel Van.
The male car driver was trapped in his vehicle for more than an hour before being cut free by the fire service.
Two air ambulances landed at the scene but the man was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford by land ambulance.
The van driver suffered minor injuries and was also taken to the JR.
The A420 was closed southbound, towards Swindon, to clear debris and oil from the road during the evening rush hour.
