IN common with most mature adults I have no fear or dread of death.

Dying is another matter and one that is best accomplished with aid.

Now in my 80th year I am suffering the painful, debilitating effects of pulmonary fibrosis, in addition to sundry other ailments.

I long for the relief that death will bring me but lack the guts or the means to achieve this end. Is it not in society’s mutual interest to set up a secure, simple process to allow sane, mature adults the benefit of deciding for themselves when enough is enough and providing the means to achieve this end?

I am convinced I am not alone in this point of view.
