WITH respect to (Lecturer’s latest discrimination case fails, July 12), we learn that “Dr Cecile Deer, pictured, reached an out-of-court settlement with the University over allegations she was sexually discriminated against after being left out of the University’s football team because she was a mother.”
Had she not given birth at some point, would her claim for this alleged gender bias have been considered invalid?
In my day, academics concentrated on research and teaching, rather than sport and litigation.
