Thames Water is seeking the cause of a water leak in Walton Street.
Repair crews first attended the scene, near Lloyds pharmacy, at 10pm on Tuesday.
Spokesman Craig Rance said: “Our leak-detection team dug down to the pipe on Tuesday evening but did not find a fault.
“The road was resurfaced that evening and we will continue our investigations.”
